RESPAWN (2026)

RESPAWN is a host-assisted solo performance staged as a covert restorative procedure. The work probes contemporary conspiracy theories in which sex, gender, and self-identification have been recast as shadowy battlegrounds for persuasion, coercion, and ideological control. As the work emerges from a subject position that has been repeatedly targeted and mythologized by these movements, RESPAWN blasphemously confronts the aesthetic and psychological horrors these theories generate—reanimating them as a Frankensteinian amalgam of lived paradox.

Because if the conspiracist is right—if the practices of altering one’s identity, form, or sex truly trace back to ancient esoteric priesthoods—then it seems like the alterations of the self is like an unstoppable substance that wanders, occupying whatever body it pleases, passing from beast into human being, and is never destroyed.
